Learning about Company Cultures

As one of our professional events this semester, three speakers were brought in on a panel to speak about company and industry culture. Professor Donald Hackney of Gonzaga, Eric Kern of Thomas Hammer, and Brandon Roth of US Bank were able to join us on Monday, October 17th for an hour to give an overview about their specific industry’s or company’s culture and answer some questions from the audience. The speakers touched on topics such as management styles (and which ones were most effective), attitudes towards employee competencies, and the potential criticisms that surround Millennial employees. Presenters felt comfortable speaking with one another on certain topics, and great dialogue ensued between them during the event. Audience participation was outstanding – attendees truly felt that they learned something about company culture after they left.
